New Orleans Property Assesment Appeals


The deadline to appeal your assessment in person has passed, but if you were
unable to meet with your assessor you can still submit an appeal in writing.
The deadline is Monday, August 20 at 4pm. To submit an appeal:


*	Fill out the appeal form found on the Orleans Parish Board of
Assessors website
<http://www.opboa.org/Forms/HtmlFrame.aspx?mode=content\onlineforms.htm> .
*	Drop off this form with supporting documents at your assessor's
office before the deadline.
*	Supporting documents include recent appraisals, proof of insurance
limits, recent comparable house sales in your area, etc.

Your assessor will then submit your appeal to the City Council, which acts
as a Board of Review. Appeals will be considered in September.
