[StBernard] For Craig

Craig, in the grand scheme of things, acknowledging that St. Bernard Parish
a year or so back there was an elaborate design of St. Bernard Parish's
recovery. Discussions and meetings were held about the "new look" of the
parish at some point.

What in essence would be the thinking behind moving St. Bernard forward to
the point discussed concerning the "New and improved St. Bernard"?

I'm asking this, one because of the St. Bernardians who are back rebuilding,
many in the same location while others have relocated around the parish and
still others are holding onto a wait and see attitude -- whether waiting for
financial changes or plan on seeing how St. Bernard will fare out as time
evolves.

If homes are demolished, others are spotty or built in other locations where
serious planning has been discussed in the planning it's hard to envision
how a "new world" can become reality futuristically. With studies and
planned architectural drawings proposed, one here, one there, the landscape
will have most buildings "cow-spotted", and existing around the higher
ground Judge Perez to the river resembling river towns along the Mississippi
River.

What would be your plan for a design proposed if you were the next Parish
President? What are your leaning thoughts for recovery? Thanks.

John,

the 100% demo reimbursement was extended six months from Aug 29, 2007- there
was a hold up on debris pick up recently but that seems to have been
resolved so that theoretically things like storm related debris, tires,
trees, etc. should resume.

the only hiccup now is that the president has refused to release properties
that were previously condemned by the council to progress through the
demolition process- the clock is running and getting the abandoned houses
down, even those going to the Road Home Corporation is a critical part of
the housing recovery.

God Bless,
craig
