Thursday, September 27, 2007St. Bernard bureau
The race for the state House of Representatives' 103rd District seat was
trimmed to six candidates recently when one candidate withdrew from the
campaign.

Dent Hunter Jr., a New Orleans Democrat, said Wednesday that he had
withdrawn from the contest.

Anh "Joseph" Cao of New Orleans, Reed Henderson of Violet, Mark Madary of
Arabi and Mike Bayham, Clay Cosse and Rob Ruffino, all of Chalmette, are
vying for the post.

The district includes Arabi, western Chalmette, parts of eastern New Orleans
and the rural communities in St. Bernard from Hopedale and Delacroix to the
east side of the Violet Canal.

Incumbent Ken Odinet is barred by term limits from seeking re-election.

The election is Oct. 20.
