Jer,

I agree with you. As a person who has young family members that have fought
in Iraq, I find her comments insulting and offensive. These young people
have seen death and injury in their fellow soldiers, innocent civilians and
their enemies. They don't enjoy any of it. No one likes war and death but
some things are worth fighting for. I would rather that terrorist be drawn
to Iraq for the fight rather than in the streets of New York or Los Angelos.
Many of our brave soldiers will be scarred for life, both physically and
mentally, for her right to spit out her disgraceful comments. I wonder if
she would do the same for them. I think not. My son's friend died in Iraq.
He was from Lafayette were my son attends college. Going to this young
man's funeral was one of the hardest things my son has ever done. I think
her comments are a slap in the face to all who have died for this country.
By the way, out cry or not, the one thing Bill Clinton did right was to try
to stop the genocide in Somolia. That was the right thing to do, even if
the polls didn't agree. I was so hoppin' mad after reading Wendy's
comments, I thought my head would explode.
