"I do hope that the candidates above taper down the mud slinging and simply
tell us what they stand for. I dont think we want to vote for the one who
simply is best at being vicious." --Gaby

Gaby, what planet are you from? <chuckle, but just kiddin'>.

You're young enough to know how to vote but many old vets of politics and
politicians in Louisiana realize that what people witness at election time
is as standard, natural, and a ritual that sprinkles the flavor of disgusts
on voters and ad watchers everywhere in our state.

However, these are special times in a Post-K era.

You can expect NO let-up/lessening of verbose aimed at the throats of
adversaries this election year.

In the case of "fat-cats" - expect them to use their wealth to ridicule and
devalue one's personality, morality, and ethic. I don't laugh as you do. I
get emotional in the guise of insincerity with one's only goal being a
game--to win is to stroke one's ego to the max. Most wealthy and in a
political position's only excuse for running again (is not to serve) but to
self-serve. For, how far can those in local governments expect to live on
chump-change offered them for their service to the community? They have day
jobs and some (oh, no don't say the "P" word (payola)) have less of a
mission to help one's fellow man. (thus the insincerity/genuineness).
State-officials step up the condition as there is more powerful people
backed by more powerful money and friends. We all know what's going on, so
stupidity/naiveness is not a requirement for ignorance. We know and many
accept that.

Again, the Fat-cats know someone, who know someone, who know someone, etc.
to the 10th power. With each generation of power up-leveled there is doubt
in the minds of the voters about whether shady deals and backroom
conversations are the order of the day. Not every politician is on the take,
Gaby. However, we shall never know the extent of corruption until they slip
up carelessly (as many has seen this 10 years.

A while back, we've seen "holy men/men of God" fall like dominoes. We've
seen priests in the Catholic Church pay out multi-million judgments because
they couldn't keep their hands to themselves. Some say "God is cleaning
house" in response to this fall from grace, so to speak.

Now we're experiencing a similar cleansing in the political realm. This
makes voters antsy and unsure of their political choices.

Yes, there are good men and women who genuinely want to make a difference in
their community. One thing we should witness is what I call "a window to the
mind and souls" of the politico--he who uses "screwing your political foe
befo' he does it to you. That window is transparent enough to witness a
true-gauge of the man himself. His soul is revealed to a clarity that
expresses what life after election is in reality. If one runs enough dirt to
bury him at his adversary regardless of its outcome, truthfulness or
ethnicity--that communication puts up a red flag to those who witness such
filth.

Watch closely these next couple of weeks. It's quite likely that you'll
develop nausea and enough of a stomach virus to make your decision on
"voters game day/October 20). Hopefully, the race will be over that day
because if not--the voter will be overexposed to more sickening diatribe
that will make him/her cringe to disgust.
