BATON ROUGE, La. -- Proctor and Gamble has demanded that the Walter Boasso
for Governor campaign stop airing a commercial that features a box of Tide
detergent in the ad.

Tide is one of the products made by Proctor and Gamble. In the ad, Boasso is
seen walking toward a box of the detergent as he says "Tide's turning in
Louisiana."

Bonnie Lemoine, Louisiana external relations manager for the company, said
the ad infringes on its trademark and could be implied as an endorsement of
Boasso's gubernatorial bid.

Lemoine says the Boasso campaign agreed to pull the ad.

Boasso's communications director, Brian Welsh, said the senator from St.
Bernard Parish started his shipping container cleaning business with $150, a
garden hose and a box of Tide. He said Boasso is proud of that success and
wants to translate that success to Louisiana.
