[StBernard] Landrieu Statement on Eddie Jordan Resignation

I saw something online where the pundit stated there would be a major white
candidate and African-American candidate (after all, it's their office now)
and the election would be a replay of the mayoral election. Hmmm.

Also, I loved the fact that when Jordan was negotiating his resignation he
required some assurances he'd get employment in the legal sector. I suppose
he needed to be assured he get a job as a senior partner or something.
Well, he couldn't let his resume speak for him, now could he?

John,

I think I heard WWL report yesterday that Mitch Landrieu already say
he
wouldn't run, but I can't confirm it in today's news reports. But,
assuming
I heard wrong, how would this turn of events look:

Mitch Landrieu is now a dead duck. Unless something goes seriously
wrong
over the next four years, it will be hard for anyone to unseat Bobby
Jindal,
so Mitch decides to run for DA and wins. That opens up the Lt. Gov's
seat.

Walter runs for and wins the Lt. Gov's seat.

In eight years, he would be able to run for the now vacant
Governor's race.

What do you think?

Too bad they didn't ask Sen. Landrieu yesterday if she thought Eddie
Jordan
should resign. I can't help but wonder if her answer would have been
supportive of his staying. I guess it's always easier to agree with
a play
call after it's been run successfully.
