[StBernard] In St. Bernard battle, recovery looms large

Jer,

The other problem is fighting those who just like "colorful" politicians.

The number one story being told about JR in political circles in bayou
country is after the storm when all the parish presidents were meeting with
Bush. After a bit of talking about FEMA, JR made the comment "Dealing with
FEMA is a lot like trying to stick a string up a cat's ass. You might make
a little progress, but it takes too much effort."

After the last legislative session, there were many newspaper stories crying
about all the colorful politicians who were being term limited out.

We don't need colorful politicians. Leave the comedy to people like Robin
Williams or George Carlin. Put serious people in for a serious job,

Westley

I will say this:

If the majority of voters cast their votes for JR, they probably deserve
him, no matter what he brings to the "parish table".

Knowing 4 years of JR will do one of to things for voters: Either they love
him (pound for pound of embarrassment, ineptness and ineffectiveness with
council and the populace's right to good administration) or

--they hate him (pound for pound of embarrassment, ineptness and
ineffectiveness with council and the populace's right to good
administration).

I know that given enough thought (don't know how many of the parish elderly
who does not like change follow the internet blurbs and want the status
quo), citizens of St. Bernard have seen what JR can do--hardly anything
without intelligence and much deliberation on serious topics which
have/could have made the significant difference.

And, if woman do vote, it's not always because Craig has charisma that would
charm the hairs off of their neck. They will vote for Craig because what
comes out of his mouth is better for St. Bernard Parish than his competitor
for the Presidency position.

If St. Bernard Parish is going to make HUGE advancements/strides in recovery
and how the parish is perceived by those seeking to live, work and do
business in this parish, it will need to take the necessary steps which will
move on beyond JR.

Of the two, which candidate is likely to accomplish this rather impossible
task that's set upon St. Bernard? Ask yourselves this important
life-changing query. Yes, da parish has had it share of being cursed. Now
it's the appropriate time to curse back, per se, at those who have hindered
its recovery and can do more to move a beacon of light through da parish's
dark corridors of despair. It needs immediate attention. The first baby step
has to have a 24 inch shoe in order to ensure everyone that hope with
enlightenment is near.
