Craig,

Once a lien has been put on a property for non compliance of the grass
ordinance can it be reduced or removed... The property is in compliance now
and has been for at least the last six weeks.

We were finally going to closing tomorrow morning with the Road Home and we
got a phone call at 5:30 today stating that the closing has to be postponed
until we get the $6100.00 lien removed..I have no immediate neighbors that
this was causing any bodily harm, mostly slabs, no people.

Mr. Perralta won't release the lien because of the degree that we were
out of compliance back in August September. At that time someone had stolen
the copper pipes and water was running down the lawn and watering the weeds.
I have no neighbors. This non-compliance was not causing any one any bodily
harm. I might add that the weeds in the street in front of my house, where
the street has finally caved in, are taller than any other ones on the
block. By the way, I had notified the complaint department repeatedly for
two years prior to Katrina about this...Every time a bus or a truck would
hit that hole our whole house would shake. Can I get money for that???

I have a rental house that I'm repairing and someone has dumped 8 garbage
bags of house hold garbage on my lawn, Can I get money for that? Some of
my copper tubing at my rental house was stolen , mostly all of the copper
tubing at the house in question was stolen...

Do I get money for that? Yes I was wrong , but $6100.00 seems
extremely excessive..

Craig any imput would be appreciated...

Thanks,

GJS
