A large crowd gathered at Nunez Community College in Chalmette today to see
St. Bernard Parish's president and Parish Council sworn to office.

In his remarks to the crowd, incoming Parish President Craig Taffaro Jr.
urged residents to hold their elected officials accountable for the parish's
continued recovery from Hurricane Katrina. 

Council members sworn to office were Tony "Ricky'' Melerine, Frank Auderer,
Ray Lauga, George Cavignac, Kenny Henderson, Mike Ginart and Fred Everhardt
Jr.
