EPA Awards Over $1 million to the University of New Orleans 


  

(Dallas, Texas - January 14, 2008)  The U. S. Environmental Protection
Agency has awarded $1,490,040 to the University of New Orleans Research and
Technology Foundation for projects in the Lake Pontchartrain Basin. These
projects will focus on the reduction or elimination of sewerage related
pollution and provide education and outreach to improve water quality in the
basin. The grant will also fund a study of wastewater collection and
treatment throughout unincorporated areas of St. Helena Parish.
