Murphy Oil plans work at Meraux, La., refinery

NEW YORK, Jan 31 (Reuters) - Murphy Oil (MUR.N: Quote, Profile, Research)
plans to work on its 120,000 barrel per day refinery in Meraux, Louisiana,
the company said during an earnings conference call with analysts.

Claiborne Deming, president and chief executive of the El Dorado,
Arkansas-based company, gave no timetable nor scope for the work.

Deming said the work would include some new tankage at the refinery, to
replace the tanks damaged during Hurricane Katrina in 2005, as well as a
couple of projects at its 34,500 bpd refinery in Superior, Wisconsin.
