NEW ORLEANS MAN SENTENCED ON CHILD PORNOGRAPHY CHARGES
NEW ORLEANS, LOUISIANA - ARTURO MONTANIO, 31, of New Orleans, Louisiana, was
sentenced to fifty-one (51) months in prison, followed by a life term of
supervised release, be required to register as a sex offender, provide a DNA
sample, and is prohibited from using computers or the internet for his
conviction for possession of child pornography, announced U. S. Attorney Jim
Letten today.

On October 31, 2007, ARTURO MONTANIO entered a plea of guilty before U. S.
District Judge Carl J. Barbier to Possession of Child Pornography.
According to documents filed in federal court, FBI agents executed a federal
search warrant on August 10, 2007, at the defendant's uptown home located on
Lowerline Street . FBI agents seized a personal computer belonging to the
defendant which contained approximately 200 images depicting the sexual
victimization of children. MONTANIO told FBI agents that he had been
downloading child pornography from free websites for the past four years.

MONTANIO has been in the custody of the U. S. Marshal's Service since his
arrest on August 29, 2007.

The prosecution of this case is being handled by Project Safe Childhood
Coordinator, Assistant U. S. Attorney Brian M. Klebba.
