[StBernard] Boeing Tanker Petition

I don't usually do this, but I have a favor to ask. Recently the
largest refueling tanker contract in our nation's history was given, not to
Boeing, the company that had the best product and pricing, but to a foreign
competitor. This means a loss of nearly 10,000 American jobs over the 35
year contract.
Right now there is an investigation into why the requirement list
for the tanker were changed at the very last minute, making it look, at
least on paper, like Airbus' product was better. When it comes to our
nation's defense it does not make sense to outsource vital equipment
production.
There is an online petition that is being signed that may help
Congress correct the mistake before tens of billions of dollars are sent
overseas.
I would appreciate it if you'd consider signing the petition as
well. Boeing's tankers employ Americans in over 40 states and generate
billions in tax revenue. If the production is done overseas and only final
assembly is completed in the US (which there is no guarantee Airbus won't
outsource that somewhere else later) the US economy will lose billions in
revenue and thousands of US jobs.
You can can sign the petition online (all they ask for if your name
and email) at US Senator Patty Murray's website. In the center of the
screen is the "JOIN THE FIGHT" button. Click it and you can enter your name
to the petition which will be introduced to congress later this month.
