"It's unbelievable that with all the correspondence on this digest about
the Clerk of Court's office prior to the election that nothing about the
condition of the bathrooms that the workers in the clerk of court's office
use.
Amazing. --Jd"

Jer Responds:

I see the point is well-taken. There are some moments in a day in our lives
when a clean and hygienic situation is as important as a court document.
Touching a court document, food, and other items hygenically with clean
hands, can in fact be as vital to health as any court transaction at that
moment.

Perhaps a digital camera to document the neglect can be as instrumental in
"setting the record straight" as it gets. We'll see. This mishap dates back
centuries to the era when doctors who didn't wash their hands before surgery
spread the disease and thus killed the patient.

I can remember a few years before the storm that the board of health found
numerous discrepancies in restaurants in da parish being unsanitary enough
fail inspections and rate them as some of the worse ones in da state. I hope
that all restaurants which were remodeled after Katrina has a clean
procedures regiment in place. When one visits the restaurants, it is said
that a stop to the restaurant's public restroom should reveal the kitchen's
cleanliness.

In the past, I could name the infractions immediately as I've found the
popular eateries as guilty as the small mom-'n-pop ones. Many of us know the
ones in question and I'm sure will be setting the standard high when going
out to eat there. Botulism, bacteria and parasites that cause
gastrointestinal illnesses, colds/flu, you name it: We run the risk of
transference with poor hygiene.

The single most important precaution is hand washing--bottom's up to speak
<g>.

Let's see that we don't continue other's diseases simply becomes there are
some who didn't care enough if others could thusly be affected.
