FBI CONCLUDES NO THREAT TO PUBLIC SAFETY
IN NEW ORLEANS REGARDING RECENT THREATS
SAC James Bernazzani and US Attorney Jim Letten announced the public can
rest assured there is no need for public safety concern regarding the
December 2007 Anti-demolition threats posted in New Orleans.

During December 2007 threatening posters were placed in and around the New
Orleans Central Business District stating "FOR EVERY HOUSING UNIT DESTROYED
A CONDO WILL BE DESTROYED", displaying a burning building as the backdrop.
These posters also stated "If there will be no homes for us, and relief from
high rents, there will be no homes for the rich either! Sincerely, The Angry
& Powerless".

As the FBI takes all threats seriously an investigation was immediately
launched by the Joint Terrorism Task Force (JTTF) and NOPD to determine if
there was any merit to the threats. Suspects were identified and agents
found that no adverse action was planned. The FBI has concluded after its
long and arduous investigation that there is no threat to public safety as
it relates to the above threat.
