Two Meraux men were booked by the St. Bernard Sheriff's Office with forcible
rape.

Jim Alphonso, 33, and John Brossette, 33, were booked with raping a woman at
a commercial trailer park in Meraux, according to a press release by the St.
Bernard Sheriff's Office.

Alphonso was also booked on warrants charging narcotics violations,
disturbing the peace and a traffic citation. He is being held in lieu of a
$95,000 bond.

Brossette is being held in lieu of $55,000 bond.

St. Bernard detectives investigated a claim by a Violet woman that she went
to the trailer of the two men, whom she and her husband had met recently,
looking to find her husband, according to the press release.

The men allegedly grabbed her by the arms and raped her in the trailer. The
sheriff's office said that men claimed the sex was consensual, but after
reviewing evidence, an arrest warrant was sought and the men were taken into
custody.
