Liverpool High School Jazz Ensemble headed to the Big Easy

 LIVERPOOL, N.Y. -- Students in the Liverpool High School Jazz Ensemble are
beginning a 1,300 mile journey to bring music back to New Orleans. They flew
down to the Big Easy Wednesday.



The band will meet up with the Chalmette High School band for a couple of
concerts as part of Operation Southern Comfort. The Liverpool students
collected a number of instruments to take down to New Orleans to replace
those lost in Hurricane Katrina. 



Students say they are excited about the trip.



"Everyone on this trip is really going to have a great time. We are all
enthused to go down there and meet everybody, have some fun, play some music
and get to see what really happens," said Peter Casey.


The jazz ensemble will be back on Sunday.
