The Red Cross's Access to Care program covers emotional support services
such as medications, counseling (individual, group and family sessions),
evaluation and testing for children under the age of 21, outpatient
substance abuse treatment and ear acupuncture (for substance abuse treatment
and relief of stress and anxiety). The benefit covers services up to $2000
(increased from $1000) and is retroactive to August 30, 2005. To be
eligible, you must have lived in the recovery region prior to Hurricanes
Katrina and Rita.
