Westley,

The attached photo is a sign in Mandeville, LA in front of the office of Bud
Gregg, State Farm Agent...my agent and a close friend.  This sign says it
all.  

The funny thing about this is Bud got a called from the Regional Field
Director of State Farm.  As Bud tells the story, the Director was very
pleasant and asked Bud if he could pay him a visit at Bud's office the next
day to just talk - he didn't mention anything about the sign, but Bud knew
what the call was about since he hasn't heard from the guy in ages.  Bud
says he cut him off, told him to save his gas money because "the sign isn't
coming down."

Bud has a reputation for being an "extremely" straight shooter and has
ruffled feathers before...each time with his company backing off.  This is
the same agent, who in the past has run large ads in the local newspapers
apologizing on behalf of State Farm when he felt his company publicly
committed an embarrassing act or did something less than honorable to its
policy holders.

State Farm agents are actually NOT employees of the company, but are
independent contractors.  Each agent pays entirely for his/her own office
rent, supplies and hired help.  Plus, Bud added there's nothing in the
contractual agreement between the company and agents regarding such signage.

Bud says he's adding a new back side to the sign which will read...

OBAMA SAYS LET'S TALK NICE WITH OUR ENEMIES.  YEAH RIGHT, GO ASK THE FRENCH
AND BRITISH HOW WELL THAT WORKED WITH HITLER....THEY WOULD LOVE TO BUY TIME.

Once again, that message hits the bullseye.  Wish we had more insurance
agents like Bud.
