Please join us in support of Summary No 2174 for no more zoning changes of
our homes or in our neighborhoods within and near the Murphy buyout
properties, to support our residential neighborhoods, our residential
streets and to preserve a true protective green zone buffer.

To allow refinery encroachment into the neighborhood results in further
vulnerability to known risks of fires and explosions and toxic emissions.

We are all for progress but we are also for our neighborhoods and would like
all of Murphy Oil's Meraux refinery expansions and constructions to be with
the best available controls and technology and to simply comply with the
Federal air permits, local performance standards, state statutes, parish
codes and ordinances and the letter and the spirit of the settlement
agreement.

With the tank farm expansion further north of the 20 arpent into the flood
plain closest to the MRGO and with the replacement of the damaged tanks off
of Judge Perez Drive, we requested improvements not only with controls and
monitors for emissions and releases but also for soil subsidence mitigation,
berm improvements and anchoring of tanks to prevent another catastrophic
chemical spill.

We believe these are reasonable requests given the known risks.

We know the historic past of this refinery. We question what else is being
done besides false promises and ambiguous word games to assure a safe and
more responsible future.

Please join us in support of Summary No 2174 for no more zoning changes of
our homes or in our neighborhoods.
