3-year-old Chalmette girl allegedly molested, sexually battered

A man was arrested Friday and charged with molestation and sexual battery of
a Chalmette 3-year-old girl, said St. Bernard Parish Sheriff Jack Stephens. 

The 3-year-old girl is the daughter of the woman Perry J. Watts, 22, was
living with. Watts allegedly molested the 3-year-old girl. 

The child complained of pain while being given a bath while visiting her
grandmother, Stephens said, and after being taken July 30 to a hospital, the
child told her grandmother and a doctor that she had been touched. 

The girl alleged in the same day she was touched three times by Watts, who
is not the child's father, Cannizaro said. 

Watts was out on bond before being arrested for a narcotics and weapons
arrest in New Orleans last January, Stephens said. He is currently being
held in St. Bernard Parish prison and his bond is set at $225,000.
