State Taking Public Comment on Three Recovery Action Plans

Baton Rouge, La. (August 12, 2008) - The Louisiana Recovery Authority and the Office of Community Development's Disaster Recovery Unit published four action plan amendments detailing the spending of hundreds of millions of recovery funds this week for public comment.

*	First Action Plan, Amendment 27 - Asks the federal government to allow the state to break the $150,000 cap in the Road Home program to serve a greater population of applicants in the $7,500 Individual Mitigation Measures program.
	
*	First Action Plan, Action Plan Amendment 28 - Proposes changes to the Road Home regarding home valuations and determining the pre-storm value of a property.
	
*	First Action Plan, Action Plan Amendment 29 - Reallocates $3.3 million in Community Development Block Grant funding for building code enforcement.

Following approval by the LRA's board and the Louisiana Legislature, action plans must be submitted to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development for final approval.
