New data from the National Hurricane Center shows Hurricane Ike, a
Category-4 storm with 135 mile-per-hour winds, on a path that will likely
place it in the mid-Gulf area next week.

Channel 4 Meteorologist Dawn Brown says that while Louisiana remains
within the 5-day "cone of error" for possible impact by the storm, Ike is
still a very long way off.

"It is a very far ways off in terms of hurricanes, and it still has to
interact with the Cuba land mass," Brown said.

"If Ike does make it into the Gulf by Monday, that's when we'll start
seeing that Ike is possibly a concern for us," she said.
