Utility Companies Offer Assistance


The deadline to apply for the Utility Bill Deferment plan is this Friday,
September 12. 
This program, announced last month in response to the Energy Emergency,
allows elderly, low-income and disabled customers to defer paying portions
of their electricity bills for as long as a year. Read more about the

Entergy and Cleco have suspended utility disconnections temporarily while

Both Entergy and Cleco are willing to work with individuals unable to pay
their bills on a case-by-case basis. Call Entergy at 1-800-ENTERGY or Cleco
