Well basically in a nutshell, some people wanted the docs off the board for
the hosp. district and they got an Att. General opinion that said there was
a conflict of interest since they work for one of the parties competing for
the hospital.
They got the docs' resignations and then reappointed them to the district as
non-voting members, making them essentially useless.
Then they went into Executive session to do their dirty work and hide it
from the public's scrutiny.
Then they decided to get **all** their hands in it by creating a committee
of THIRTEEN individuals (with the corresponding 13 egos, agendas of their
own, etc.) to be a committee to build the hospital. This is what is called
(nicely) a cluster muck. Think of a Marx brothers movie and you'll get the
idea.
(sigh) I wish Bertucci could be like his Dad and just go build a hospital.
Bottom line is don't expect anything to happen anytime soon. Also, don't
forget they have to figure out how much of a bribe they have to pay the
Meraux Foundation for some high, dry ground.
So, don't expect a time line that will be moving forward. With all these
hands in the fire (and till?) the line will regress.
