his brother's home, St. Bernard police said in a statement.

St. Bernard police believe that Vantrell Bienemy, 20, was shot inside his
brother's home by one, possibly more intruders. Bienemy was shot several
times through the front door.

After hearing a knock at the door, Bienemy's brother went to answer but got
no response when he asked who was there, said police.

Bienemy, who was on a cell phone according to police, then answered the door
after a second knock but quickly closed it. It was then that he was shot
through the door.

All told, Bienemy was shot three times - twice in his stomach and once in
his buttocks - shortly before midnight Monday evening, police said. He was
taken to University Hospital where he was pronounced dead later.

St. Bernard police have not made an arrest nor identified a motive in the
crime.

Bienemy had moved to back to New Orleans in May following Hurricane Katrina,
police said, and was visiting his brother that evening.

St. Bernard police said that Bienemy's killing was the third homicide of
year in the parish.
