St. Bernard Parish President Craig P. Taffaro Jr. honors media at a
recognition event at the "Sunday in the Park" concert series 

Thanks given to media for its coverage of local Hurricane Katrina recovery
efforts and breaking news during Hurricanes Gustav and Ike

 

St. Bernard Parish President Craig P. Taffaro Jr. honored several media
outlets at the most recent free concert in the "Sunday in the Park" Concert
Series in the Sidney Torres Park Amphitheater.

 

During a break in the performance by "August Rush," Taffaro thanked the
representatives of the television news operations and The Times-Picayune for
their important ongoing coverage of St. Bernard news regarding the parish's
recovery from Hurricane Katrina, and he especially thanked them for their
diligent efforts during the recent Hurricanes Gustav and Ike, where most
literally worked 24 hours in St. Bernard Parish to give residents the
critical, most current updates on what was happening locally.

 

Taffaro gave framed proclamations to Natasha Robin from Fox8 News, Liz Reyes
from WGNO-26 News, Kim Gritter from The Times-Picayune, Rachel Wulff from
WDSU - Channel 6 News and Lee Zurik from WWL-TV Channel 4 News. He also
recognized WWL-Radio for its efforts as well.
