A Violet man was booked with armed robbery in connection with a Sept. 26
incident during which three masked men armed with guns forced their way into
a Chalmette residence and demanded money from the occupants, the St. Bernard
Parish Sheriff's Office said.

Lennie Brown, 18, 2104 Colonial Blvd., was arrested Oct. 1 after being
stopped by deputies. A mask was found inside his vehicle, the sheriff's
office said in a news release Monday.

Detectives had developed information after the robbery showing that Brown
might have been involved.

No one was injured in the home invasion in the 3500 block of Chalona Drive.
Detectives believe the home was targeted specifically, rather than randomly
attacked, the sheriff's office said. It did not provide specifics.

The three bandits stole a purse containing a cell phone and $100.

The case is still under investigation.

Several of the victims told investigators that one of the bandits wore a
mask that left much of his face unobscured. After his arrest, Brown was also
identified in a lineup, the sheriff's office said.

Brown remains in St. Bernard Parish Prison in lieu of $100,000 bond
