Another storm-damaged business demolished under new "Building a Week
Program"

Daiquiris and Company at 8224 W. Judge Perez Drive in Chalmette was
demolished Thursday, October 16, 2008, as part of the "Building a Week"
Program. St. Bernard Parish President Craig P. Taffaro Jr. established the
program in an effort to spur the recovery. In the program, once a week, a
blighted commercial building is removed by parish government crews under the
direction of Louis Pomes of the Road Department.
