[StBernard] State rebukes SDT over trash facility

he may be feeling a little like Charlie Brown, but his hometown is looking
like pig pen

no doubt, SDT is a successful business that will continue to win bids for
more and more waste and debris service contracts throughout the
metro-regional area - north and south shore - even the river parishes.
.
However, part of that success is having access to transfer stations.
.
St Bernard didnot have the need for a transfer station with PreKatrina
population levels.
.
4 trucks - direct haul.
. thats what was used PreKatrina. That's all SDT uses now (for St Bernard
garbage), leaving lots of room for our population levels to return. granted,
we could all reduce what we send in the four trucks, but
.
Everything else is Orleans, Jefferson or St Tammany waste transferred to St
B at our expense for SDT's profit.
.
Our local law prohibits this type of proposal on wetlands or waterway, or
within a one mile radius of residential. The proposed site selection is all
wrong. Mr Sidney should go back to the drawing board and consider
Almonaster, Tchopotoulis, or someother area that is already industrialized.

Just my unsolicited opinion

and yes, thank God for Craig's attention to this matter

Poor little Sid. He must be feeling like this:

>his asserted defense is that there are opponents to a regional waste hub on

>the bayou/marina?

Damned right there are opponents! Why doesn't he build this in N.O. East?
Oh right, no family owned land out there.
