Of course, this cannot be true because it was posted on NOLA. <G>

Surely, $20,000 is more than half of the workers must earn with the parish,
so this cannot be possible. In addition, one does not have to have
"attractiveness" as a prerequisite to being Council Secretary as it does not
earn one an advantage to being in this position (psychologically or
emotionally).

It also does not matter pay-wise as if the council clerk was a male instead
of a female, he will not earn more, but deserve equal payment.

Having 2-3 hr. lunch breaks is not mandatory to the job function.

Applying makeup is not part of the job.

Coffee-breaks and water cooler heated discussions about other employees
should not be allowed as part of job description.

Taking extra days off to keep citizens and last-minute additions to the
agenda are questionable or at least of interest to someone.

BTW, what's this about $20,000 additional tax-payer's bucks padding one's
bank account? What percentage of wage does this entail? !0, 20, 30, 40% ?
What happened to everone's else's meager 5% raise for a good job done? (and
accepted by most, but happy to be included in a raise during tough economic
times and periods of dire recovery and infrastructure rebuilds?

So, as mentioned, there must be a typo on NOLA or anyone's word gossip as
surely, it's absurd to believe such nonsense is pending. (smile). And
surely, no one will dare challenge such misappropriation of tax-payer's
money or even consider this tripe.

-----------------------------------------------------
I can see a (modest) raise for employees as nothing has gone down in costs.
However, $3/hr x 2080 hrs = $6,240.00/per employee in a raise. That's a
healthy chunk of change for a parish dealing with fiscal constraints. Also,
I read on nola.com that the council sec'y got a $20k annual raise plus drive
home car. Any truth to that?
