Pearl Harbor Memorial Ceremony held at Pearl Harbor Park in Chalmette 

 

The Sons and Daughters of Pearl Harbor Survivors and the Pearl Harbor
Survivors Associations Ed Jones Chapter, held a memorial service to
commemorate the 67th anniversary of the bombing of Pearl Harbor Sunday at
Pearl Harbor Park on Paris Road in Chalmette. 

 

St. Bernard Parish President Craig P. Taffaro Jr. spoke at the ceremony that
honored the survivors of one of our country's most historical events - the
bombing of Pearl Harbor by naval and air forces of the Japanese empire.
More than 2,400 military personnel were lost and over 700 were wounded and
the attack triggered the United States' entrance into WWII as part of the
allied forces.
