Corps to hold flood protection meeting tonight in St. Bernard

The U.S. Corps of Engineers will hold a meeting tonight on the status of
flood protection structures in St. Bernard Parish.

The meeting will be held at Lynn Oaks School, #1 Lynn Oaks Dr., Braithwaite.
It begins at 6 p.m. with an open house, followed at 7 p.m. by the meeting.

The meeting will focus on the status of the Bayou Dupre Control Structure,
Caernarvon Floodwall, Chalmette Loop Levee and the Inner Harbor Navigation
Canal Surge Barriers at lakes Borgne and Pontchartrain.

The presentation will also address borrow, the clay material used to build
earthen levees.
