St. Paul's Homecoming Center / Beacon of Hope
St. Paul's Homecoming Center / Beacon of Hope was originally established in
Lakeview as a Katrina Disaster Response Center and is now re-locating to
Gentilly. The Center will serve as a hub for the residents of Gentilly
providing numerous services such as computers with internet access, fax,
free notary public, volunteer labor (for non-skilled home tasks on a
case-by-case basis), case management (helping residents locate available
resources and support services and providing renovation/rebuilding
assistance for homeowners).

Small Business Preparation Training


Good Work Network presents business training classes - including Personal
Effectiveness, Financial Literacy, and Business Planning - every Thursday
for 14 weeks, beginning January 29.

Abandoned Vehicle Auction


The City of New Orleans Department of Public Works will hold an auction for
abandoned vehicles on Thursday, January 15 at 10 am at the Almonaster Auto
Pound, 10200 Almonaster Avenue. Vehicles will be available for viewing on
Wednesday, January 14 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
