Jer Responds:
Why wasn't the trailer moved two years ago - had Wal-Mart reopen, and a
decent medical center starting to rebuild at that time?
Does it always have to be "politics as usual"?
Isn't it strange how a dozen dollar stores and eateries of
medically-hideous, heart damaging fast-food outlets can be erected in weeks
and a decent medical center can take 5 yrs. to think about coming to a
community of 30,000 (quote-unquote) and 4 or 5 yrs later--still operates out
of a "trailer park" rather than on its own property?
How mind-bending is this? Is this putting St. Bernard First? I would venture
to say that better medical care is given to war-torn Iraq and the African
Congo than what's happening in St. Bernard and America is general. Shameful.
