"So back to the purchase of the land in NO east. You don't need to be a
rocket scientist to know that Wal-mart has no intention to rebuild in St
Bernard at this time. They are properly preparing to open a store in the NO
East to service St. Bernard residents as well. --jd"

Jer responds:

Perhaps you're right. We can remember and assume why they placed SAM'S CLUB
around the populous Plaza Shopping Center. As we know, revitalizing New
Orleans East and the "Apartment dwellers" are great consumers of Wal-Mart
products also.

In the past, we traveled to New Orleans East for a shopping center (Plaza),
Sam's Club, and perhaps now the Wal-Mart. Wal-Mart could possibly be
including the population numbers of both St. Bernard and New Orleans east to
provide them with Wal-Mart products. Combining both to a Super Wal-Mart
forces St. Bernardians to make the trip and convenience to everyone there.

If Wal-Mart should come and revamp in the same location after moving medical
trailers, it might wish to "scale down" to a smaller one to service a now
smaller St. Bernard Parish. They think dollars not parish need.
