Mar 03, 2009 (M2 EQUITYBITES via COMTEX) --

-- Air Products (NYSE: APD), a provider of atmospheric gases, process and
speciality gases, performance materials and equipment and services, said on
2 March that the company has strengthened its US Gulf Coast hydrogen
pipeline network in Louisiana with the completion of a 37-mile extension to
the system.
The new portion of the hydrogen network, much of which was placed in the
lake-bed of Lake Pontchartrain, links the existing pipeline systems on both
sides of the lake.

The company claimed that the new extension creates a continuous hydrogen
pipeline network of more than 150 miles from the city of Plaquemine to
Chalmette, with 15 hydrogen production source points feeding the system
including the hydrogen plants being built in Garyville and Baton Rouge.

In addition Air Products has a second and larger hydrogen pipeline system of
over 300 miles in the US Gulf Coast, from the Houston Ship Channel in Texas
to Lake Charles, Louisiana.
