[StBernard] Louisiana Land Use Toolkit Road Show

Beginning April 14, representatives from the non-profit Center for Planning
Excellence (CPEX) will hit the road to educate leaders around the state
about a groundbreaking new, free online tool available in the upcoming
months that will assist them in planning for future growth and development
in their communities: The Louisiana Land Use Toolkit. 

There will be 10 "Louisiana Land Use Toolkit Road Show" workshops scheduled
throughout the state in April and May and community leaders, planners,
realtors, economic development officials and other community leaders are
being invited to attend. Each workshop will include a discussion of the
development-related issues across communities in Louisiana, along with a
hands-on, interactive mapping session that will illustrate what good
planning and clear, consistent development tools can mean for a community's
future growth and quality of life.

This Louisiana Land Use Toolkit was born out of the groundbreaking Louisiana
Speaks planning process and is an action item of the Louisiana Speaks
Regional Plan. It was developed by CPEX, with support from Louisiana
Economic Development (LED). The Toolkit will offer example land-use
regulations that address common growth and development challenges. It will
allow parishes and municipalities to adopt a complete development code or
select "cafeteria-style" from individual development ordinances that meet
their specific needs.

The National Association of REALTORSR (NAR) provided the funding for the
Center for Planning Excellence to host the "Road Show" Workshops. The
Toolkit will be available at www.landusetoolkit.com. If you are involved in
