A Chalmette teen has been booked with second-degree battery after allegedly
beating up another teen at a bus stop, authorities said.

Bernard Parish Sheriff's Office said Thursday.

Roussell is accused of beating up a 13-year-old boy at a bus stop Tuesday
morning. The victim suffered jaw fractures and broken teeth, the Sheriff's
Office said.

The news release said the 13-year-old was waiting for a bus when tried to
defend a 12-year-old boy that Roussell allegedly was attacking. The news
release said Roussell put the 13-year-old in a chokehold and that he passed
out, hitting his face on the ground.

The 13-year-old was taken to Children's Hospital by his mother, the news
release said.

Roussell was released from custody on a $25,000 property bond, the release
