Friends of the Animal Shelter and the St. Bernard Parish Animal Shelter
Receive $33,000 Grant from PetSmart CharitiesR to Neuter 500 Animals



The Friends of the Animal Shelter and the St. Bernard Parish Animal Shelter
received a $33,000 grant this week to spay/neuter 500 animals belonging to
St. Bernard Parish residents.



All animals in the program will be spayed/neutered and microchipped.
Feral/Stray Cats will be given all necessary vaccinations. Residents will
also have the opportunity to vaccinate their pet at low cost if necessary.
We are offering a special fee for spay/neuter of Feral/Stray Cats and for
Pits/Pit mixes.



Spay/Neuter Fees:

Feral/Stray Cats: $10 per cat

Owned Cats/Dogs: $25 per animal

Low Income/Seniors: $15 per animal

Pits or Pit mixes: $15 per dog



Fees will be negotiated for residents who have more than 2 animals to be
Spayed/Neutered and can also be adjusted for special circumstances. We do
not want to turn anyone away!

Friends of the Animal Shelter was founded in 1998 to help end pet
overpopulation in the region. As an auxiliary to the St. Bernard Parish
Animal Control Shelter, Friends of the Animal Shelter of St. Bernard provide
proactive programs and services that address the root causes of pet

of achieving a ZERO euthanasia rate for every adoptable dog and cat in their
care while improving shelter conditions.
