Partnership for Prescription Assistance

The "Help is Here Express" bus, sponsored by the Partnership for
Prescription Assistance, is in New Orleans and Jefferson Parish through
Thursday to help uninsured and financially struggling residents access
information on programs that provide prescription medicines for free or
nearly free. The bus will be at Mary Queen of Vietnam Church, 14001 Dwyer
Blvd., from 9-11 a.m on Thursday, July 2.
Help is also available any time through the Partnership for Prescription
Assistance by calling 888.477.2669 or visiting pparx.org.

Low or No Cost Insurance for Children

LAChip offers no cost or low cost health care plans for Louisiana children
up to age 19 who do not have health insurance. LaCHIP pays for medical
services including doctor visits, hospital expenses, prescription drugs and
vaccinations. Eligibility for the LaCHIP program is based on family size and
income. A family of 4 can earn as much as $55,000 and still qualify for
LaCHIP coverage for kids.

HANO to purge waiting list

More than 6,000 households who were on the city's public-housing waiting
list before Hurricane Katrina have until Friday, July 3 to send their
mailing addresses to the Housing Authority of New Orleans. After that
deadline, HANO will remove all names without current contact information,
and then open the list to new applicants.

Track MR-GO Progress

The Army Corps of Engineers has launched a website is designed to help the
public track restoration efforts in the Mississippi River Gulf Outlet
ecosystem. The site includes information related to the de-authorization and
closure of the former navigation channel, as well as development of
ecosystem restoration plans.
