Well, well, well...the dynamic duo becomes a triumvirate.

I wonder when they'll decide to change the location of the hospital to
something more to Mr. Landry's liking.

Offhand, does anyone know if the inquiry to the State Ethics Board ever
returned a decision on Landry and Cavignac being able to sit on the board
while also serving on the Council?

ST. BERNARD'S HOSPITAL BOARD OPTS FOR NEW LEADERSHIP

New Chairman plans to quicken Commission's pace
With newly appointed members Wayne J. Landry and George Cavignac
finally in
place on St. Bernard Parish's Hospital Service District Commission,
the
Board chose to elect them as Chairman and Vice-Chairman on
Wednesday, July
15th. As the two took their seats for the first time at Wednesday's
meeting, fellow Board Commissioner James DiFatta offered a motion of
nomination for Mr. Landry to replace the existing Chairman, Danny
Dysart.
With the vote for Landry successful, Mr. DiFatta, the Board's
Treasurer,
then went on to nominate Mr. Cavignac as Vice-Chairman to fill the
officer
vacancy left by Dr. Bryan Bertucci's resignation.

Mr. Landry stated, "I'm honored that my fellow Commissioners have
elected me
as Chairman to lead our hospital project forward. This hospital is
St.
Bernard's most critical recovery project -- not only to attract our
residents to return, but as a serious economic development tool. I
plan on
keeping a firm grasp of the situation to prevent any unnecessary
delays."

Signs of this new pace were evident at the rest of the meeting, as a
lengthy
20 item agenda was tackled, setting the stage for everything from
necessary
committees to document preparations for contracts of various work
required
for the hospital. Elected also as Secretary was Commissioner Ron
Chapman,
who was unable to attend Wednesday night's meeting.
