Heritage's Randy Pate also notes that "the abortion issue could again play a
pivotal role in the direction of health care reform
<http://members.myheritage.org/site/R?i=I1Y6bCWPZ3qvIR_SxgqPyA..> ." Many
moderates are concerned that the legislation grants broad powers to a new
bureaucracy that would define health care benefits-benefits which could
include taxpayer-funded abortions.

I sincerely doubt this will happen. Why? Because the FEHBP plans for
Federal Employees expressly forbid coverage of except under certain
conditions. From the FEHBP Blue Cross Plan:

Not covered:
. Procedures, services, drugs, and supplies related to
abortions except when the life of the mother would
be endangered if the fetus were carried to term or
when the pregnancy is the result of an act of rape
or incest

Now boys: You'll be happy to know that Fed Blue Cross **does** cover this:

Orthopedic and prosthetic devices (cont.) Standard Option Basic Option
. Surgically implanted penile prostheses to treat
erectile dysfunction
