Blighted Properties

Our Local Services section includes information on reporting blighted properties, searching for blighted properties available for sale, and general code enforcement guidelines. The Department of Code Enforcement will hold hearings from August 10-14 about blighted property complaints reported to 311. Road Home Properties for Sale in Lakeview and Jefferson Parish

The Lakeview Civic Improvement Association and NORA are now working together to offer Road Home properties for sale to those who may not be eligible for the Lot Next Door program. The deadline for submitting formal offer forms (entitled "Individual Acquisition Form") on Road Home properties being sold through this LCIA/NORA Phase 2 Program program is Friday, July 31, 2009.

The public will also have a chance to bid on 94 Road Home properties in Jefferson Parish during an auction. The properties - which include homes and vacant residential lots - are throughout the parish, including Metairie, Kenner, Lafitte, Marrero and Gretna.

Citizen-Assisted Evacuation Plan

The City-Assisted Evacuation Plan is a program designed to help people who have no means of evacuating on their own in the event of a mandatory evacuation. Eligible individuals can register online, by calling 311 or 1-877-286-6431, or at selected Winn Dixie stores.
