1 YEAR FROM NOW: YOUR JOB PROSPECTS DISAPPEARING ...

TRYING TO KEEP YOUR JOB? Your Employer Could Lay You Off Because Of New
Mandates. "An employer mandate with a punitive payroll tax: Research shows
an employer mandate could cost 1.6 million jobs with more than 1 million of
those jobs lost in the small business sector. The approach fails to increase
affordability and, instead, devastates the economy - with the greatest
impact being levied on the low-income community who will pay through
depressed wages and lost jobs ..." (Susan Eckerly, Letter To Representative,
National Federation Of Independent Businesses
<http://link.sc.states.gop.com?164-587-626-25548-3333> , 7/15/09)

TRYING TO FIND A JOB? Those New Regulations Will Make It More Difficult For
Them To Hire You. "[E]mployers who do not offer 'affordable' coverage to
employees would have to help pay the cost of such benefits for their
low-income workers ... The Center on Budget and Policy Priorities, a liberal
research and advocacy group, said this proposal 'could unintentionally
discourage the hiring of lower-income people,' by adding a new 'health
surcharge' to the cost of employing them." (Jeff Zeleny and Robert Pear,
"Obama Says Government Health Coverage Plan Would Not Hurt Private Insurer
s," The New York Times
<http://link.sc.states.gop.com?164-587-626-25548-3338> , 6/23/09)

2 YEARS FROM NOW: YOUR ENTREPRENEURIAL SPIRIT CRUSHED ...

PLANNING TO START YOUR OWN BUSINESS? More Young Americans Like You Are
Becoming Entrepreneurial. "They've got the smarts and the confidence to get
a job, but increasing numbers of the millennial generation -- those in their
mid-20s and younger -- are deciding corporate America just doesn't fit their
needs. So armed with a hefty dose of optimism, moxie and self-esteem, they
are becoming entrepreneurs." (Sharon Jayson, "Gen Y Makes A Mark
<http://link.sc.states.gop.com?164-587-626-25548-3332> ," USA Today,
12/7/06)

Health Savings Accounts Will Help Your Business Save Money. "A
consumer-directed health plan is an insurance coverage with a high
deductible ... combined with a health-savings account, the tax-advantaged
product that is either funded by the employer or by regular contributions
from employees ... At Aetna for example, about 60 percent of new business
sales for small-group employers in Connecticut have been in
consumer-directed health plans ..." (Greg Bordonaro, "Consumer-Directed
Health Plans Gain," Hartford Business
<http://link.sc.states.gop.com?164-587-626-25548-3329> , 7/6/09)

* But Obama's Plan Could Force You And Any Of Your Employees To Switch

>From HSAs To More Expensive, Less Flexible Government-Run Plan. "Hundreds of

companies now offer Health Savings Accounts to about 5 million employees ...
The bills seriously endanger the trend toward consumer-driven care in
general. By requiring minimum packages, they would prevent patients from
choosing stripped-down plans that cover only major medical expenses. 'The
government could set extremely low deductibles that would eliminate HSAs,'
says John Goodman of the National Center for Policy Analysis ..." (Shawn
Tully, "5 Freedoms Y ou'll Lose In Health Care Reform," Fortune
<http://link.sc.states.gop.com?164-587-626-25548-3335> , 7/24/09)

Obama's Tax Hikes To Pay For His Experiment Will Take Bigger Chunk Out Of
Your Business' Income. "Obama's plan to raise the top tax rate from 35% to
39%, combined with the health care surtax, would mean top-earning households
are keeping 17% less of their income after paying taxes ... High tax rates
have serious economic consequences ...They also shrink the size of the tax
base, raise less revenue than some might think, and overly burden the
entrepreneurial sector." (Robert Carroll, "The Economic Costs Of High Tax
Rates," Tax Foundation
<http://link.sc.states.gop.com?164-587-626-25548-3325> , 7/29/09)

* And Less Income Means You Could Be Forced To Lay Off Your Employees.
"This [surtax] would hit job creators especially hard because more than six
of every 10 who earn that much are small business owners, operators or
investors, according to a 2007 Treasury study ... America's successful small
businesses would pay higher tax rates than the Fortune 500, and for that
matter than most companies around the world ... " (Editorial, "The Small
Business Surtax," The Wall Street Journal
<http://link.sc.states.gop.com?164-587-626-25548-3336> , 7/14/09)

5 YEARS FROM NOW: YOUR HEALTH CARE COSTS EXPLODING ...

Your Health Care Expenses Will Skyrocket. "The rapidly rising cost of health
care, President Obama has said, is 'a threat to our economy' and 'a ticking
time bomb for the federal budget.' So a critical test of the health reform
proposals lumbering through Congress is whether they defuse that bomb. The
answer, so far, is no. That was the message, more tactfully delivered, of a
letter budget director Peter Orszag sent to the chairs of three House
committees ... As Mr. Orszag put it, 'Adopting a deficit-neutral health
reform that expands coverage ... is not enough, because it would perpetuate
a system in which best practices are far from unive rsal and costs are too
high.'" (Editorial, "Health Care Savings," The Washington Post
<http://link.sc.states.gop.com?164-587-626-25548-3331> , 7/13/09)

New Regulations Will Make You Pay More Than What Your Health Insurance Is
Worth. "[T]he Obama plan enshrines into federal law one of the worst
features of state legislation: community rating ... requires that all
patients pay the same rates for their level of coverage regardless of their
age or medical condition ... it forces young people ... to pay far more than
their actual cost ... The state laws gouging the young are a major reason so
many of them have joined the ranks of uninsured ... So if a 20-year-old who
costs just $800 a year to insure is forced to pay $2,500 ..." (Shawn Tully,
"5 Freedoms You'll Lose In Health Care Reform," Fortune
<http://link.sc.states.gop.com?164-587-626-25548-3328> , 7/24/09)

AND 10 YEARS FROM NOW: YOU WILL BE BURDENED WITH HUGE DEBTS

Obama's Experiment Would Saddle You With $239 Billion Deficit In 10 Years.
"Democrats argue the number should be $1 trillion, a number provided by the
Congressional Budget Office for the net cost of the portion of the bill
affecting health insurance, and they boasted in press releases that the bill
actually creates a $6 billion surplus over the coming decade. But the gross
cost of the bill is much higher, more than $1.6 trillion, according to a
Roll Call analysis of the CBO data. And despite more than $800 billion in
tax and fee hikes, it actually adds $239 billion to the deficit ..." (Steven
Dennis, "Analysis: House Health Care Bill's Price Tag Tops $1.6 Trillion,"
Roll Call <http://link.sc.states.gop.com?164-587-626-25548-3324> , 7/20/09)

Don't Be Surprised If Your Taxes Increase To Pay Off Large Debts From
Obama's Experiments. "[T]he federal budget [Obama] unveiled last month
projects even faster increases in the National Debt ... The Administration's
four year estimate shows that by the end of September 2012, the Debt will
have soared to $16.2-trillion, which amounts to nearly 100% of the projected
Gross Domest ic Product that year. The U.S. is running up so much debt so
quickly, some investors are worried. Over the weekend, Chinese Premier Wen
Jiabao, who says his country has about a trillion dollars invested in U.S.
Treasury notes, said he wanted a guarantee. President Obama said Wen's got
nothing to worry about ... That's because the U.S. government's power to tax
stands behind all of its debt. If Uncle Sam ever needs a bailout, then as
now, taxpayers get nailed." (Mark Knoller, "National Debt Hits Record $1.1
Trillion," CBS News' "Political Hotsheet" Blog
