"...Democrats have consistently argued that Vitter is vulnerable for 2010,
in part because of the scandal he faced after the 2007 revelation that his
name was in the phone records of a Washington, D.C., escort service
associated with prostitution. And Melancon - a leader of the Blue Dog
Coalition of conservative-leaning House Democrats - provides the party with
a formidable opponent for Vitter."

The Demwits are absolutely fooling themselves. I've said it before and I'll
say it again - I'll take on any wagers in the race. True, being a close
friend of pollster John Grimm (Multi-Quest International) does give me
something of an edge, but I didn't need polls to tell me this.

The D.C. Madam is OLD NEWS, especially when the economy is in the tank and
people are losing their jobs. And fear not, the GOP and Vitter will run
commerical after commercial burning it into the brains of all Louisianians
that he votes right down the line with the overwheling majority of them -
and while Melancon does not!

I guess what I'm driving at here is something we already know - it's hard to
defeat someone who has done the job...it's hard to knock someone out of
office who has voted the way the people he represents wanted him to vote.
Vitter will remind everyone of that and leave you with this simple question:
If I've voted the way you want and brought home the bacon to boot, then how
can you possibly come out any better voting for someone who CAN'T do any
better? Not to mention publizing Melancon's close affiliation with Obama.
Hell, Melancon's endorsement of Obama is the only commercial subject Vitter
really needs to run - no other issues are necessary.

Of course, I'd love a commercial that says "a true Louisiana BLUE DOG
doesn't endorse a Chicago BLACK DOG!" Ha!

Folks, if this were a football game and I and odds maker - I'd have Vitter a
good 14 point favorite.

Now, I wonder who's going to make a dash for Melancon's vacated seat.

John
