How quickly St. Bernard parish council members forget the angry reaction
from people when state legislators tried to pull this stunt a couple of
years back.  Thankfully, Governor Jindal put his veto to it.  I suggest the
people of St. Bernard do the same.

Sorry, but:  you ran for these offices knowing what the compensation was.
You still wanted the job.  It is called "public service" and you chose to
involve yourself.

I'd like to know how much they receive for car allowances or do they get
parish-owned cars?  What about cell phone allowances and other items.

I don't believe the comparisons with Orleans and Jefferson mean squat.
Those parishes have greater populations than SBP.

If any of the the councilfolk think the compensation is too little, they
have the option of resigning the job.  No one is forcing them to serve.
