Family Fun/Awareness Day on Saturday on September 12 from 2 to 6 pm. at
Christian Fellowship Family Worship Center

 

The Louisiana Youth Enhanced Services (LA-Y.E.S.)/St. Bernard parish council
will sponsor a Family Fun/Awareness Day on Saturday on September 12 from 2-6
pm. at Christian Fellowship Family Worship Center, 5816 E. Judge Perez Drive
in Violet. 

 

At this event, we also hope to increase awareness of available children's
mental health and social services in the parish and surrounding areas. The
Family Fun/Awareness Day will also give parents the opportunity to network
with other families and participate in fun activities with their child(ren).

 

We have commitments from over 30 community health agencies to set up
informational booths that include brochures, newsletters, flyers, giveaways,
etc. Depending on the weather, there will also be food, games, and fun
activities to encourage family participation (i.e., face painting, space
walks, relay games, prizes, etc.). Parents will be able to walk through and
talk with representatives from each agency and receive information related
to child mental health and the agency's services.

 

The LA-Y.E.S./St. Bernard Parish Council is a community group of family
members, agency representatives, teachers, and people working with children
and their families. LA-Y.E.S. serves as a central point of contact for
various community agencies that identify children between the ages of 3 to
21 who suffer from serious emotional and behavioral disorders. It is our
goal to encourage family involvement in the planning and delivery of their
child(ren)'s services.
