Hmmmm, sorry I can't buy that one....I have a tough time comparing an
official visit by a president or vice-president, which that still was, to
that of shopping for veggies when a staffer could have easily done it - and
should have done it.  The Vice-President couldn't send someone in his place
if he was the key note speaker.

But a good try!

Well, let's see. I attended a fundraiser for David Vitter at the World Trade
Center across from Harrah's when Vitter was running for the Senate. Dick
Cheney was the featured speaker. The Secret Service blocked off the I-10
between the airport and the WTC for several hours in the middle of rush
hour. Bottom line, the taxpayers paid to fly Cheney to town to raise funds
for Vitter and disrupt the entire city in the process. 
Don't kid yourself. It happens on both sides.
